The murder that took place in Kiliyoor, Vellarada, on February 5, 2025, has left Kerala in shock. 28-year-old Prajin Jose brutally killed his 70-year-old father, Jose. The attack happened inside their house, where he used a machete to inflict severe injuries on his father's chest and neck, leading to his death.
When Prajin surrendered at the Vellarada Police Station, his statements were shocking. He said,
"My father never let me live freely. He didn't support me financially. That's why I got so angry."
Prajin had enrolled in an MBBS program in China in 2014. However, due to a financial scam by the admission agency, he was unable to obtain his certificate. This left him feeling hopeless. Later, he joined a short-term film course in Ernakulam, after which his behavior completely changed.
Prajin's mother, Sushma, made shocking revelations that led the case in a new direction.
She said, "He always stayed alone, locked himself in his room, and listened to strange devotional and eerie music."
When the police searched his room, they found mysterious symbols and objects related to black magic. This raised suspicions about whether occult practices influenced the murder.
According to the police, Prajin had been violent towards both his parents in the past. His mother, Sushma, said, "He has threatened to kill us multiple times. In the end, he actually did it to his father. Now, I fear for my own life."
Prajin is currently in police custody as they conduct further investigations. His mobile phone, diary, and the ritualistic items found in his room are being analyzed.
